![]() Probably, wouldn't be useful on anything shorter than an 85. Understand it's a motorized extension ring, so your focal range will come in. I've used for handheld and on a test shot of a marigold processed with first attempt with Helicon Focus got a result that passed muster and delighted as long as you didn't pixel peep. If a lens isn't on the list that doesn't mean it doesn't work with it, they just tested the common ones and look to the community to verify more. The list is short but appears to include the common lens used for macro. ![]() They have a list of lenses that have been verified. It doesn't work with all autofocus lenses. It only works with auto focus lenses and you put the camera in manual mode. You set a start focal point and a number of "steps" it should take to get to either infinity or max near focus (you choose which direction you want to go.) Each "step" is a shot. FB Tube rotates your focus ring same as your camera would with the newer top end cameras. the memory ain't what it used to be!) A mechanical device such as this can be used with virtually any camera and lens (and lens accessory, such as macro extension tubes), including manual focus.įB Tube isn't a rail so that metric doesn't apply. But, it also might have been made and sold by a different company (gettin' old. That could be programmed with image count and focus intervals for various focus stacking needs. But you can see in this image, that when focused on the near row of pins on the STM32 chip on the board, much of the board is out of focus. The NiSi NM-180 lets us easily move our camera forward and backwards in order to get what we want in focus. If I recall correctly, HeliconSoft (the company that offers all the above) at one time offered a motorized, computer-controlled focusing rail device for use on a tripod. In this case, it’s an STM32 development board. Check the HeliconSoft website for compatibility and/or contact them for recommendations. Which you would need depends upon the camera and lens you're using. ![]() Remote is software, while FB Tube is hardware and software. Helicon Remote and Helicon FB Tube essentially do the same thing. This device also requires a lens with autofocus capabilities. It is currently available only in Canon EF mount and Nikon F mount (both DSLR lens mounting systems, which might be possible to adapt to some mirrorless camera systems). The device is controlled by computer, tablet or smart phone. "Helicon FB Tube" is a physical device that's fitted between lens and camera both to allow the lens to focus closer and to provide incremental focus bracketing. This version is in development to be a future version of Helicon Remote. "Helicon Remote Beta" is same as Helicon Remote with a few newer camera models added (including some Sony, Canon and Nikon mirrorless), although in some cases there may be limited functionality. The software resides on a computer or other device, to which the camera will be tethered. "Helicon Remote" is a software that can be used to control select Canon and Nikon DSLRs and will make the cameras do focus bracketing as described above. Before buying any of the following, check your camera's capabilities in this regard. Some cameras now have built in ability to do focus bracketing, where the camera shifts focus slightly for a series of shots that will be later post-processed with the above software. "Helicon Focus" is a computer image editing software used to combine a series of images taken at different focus points into a single image with greater depth of field than is possible optically. Looks interesting but does it really work? defraction doesn’t help beyond f5.6 tbh so it’s best staying at f2.8 or f4.Has anyone used the Helicon Focus? It is used for automatic focus stacking via a lens attachment combined with their software program. ![]() I do like doing things at maximum magnification (hence why I’ve been happy without an AF macro for last few years of mirrorless), so the lack of focus completely isn’t a problem. A common problem in macro is lighting and a short MFD and big hood can be a disaster. I especially like how small the diameter of the lens is at the end. On the 2.5-5x laowa lens, it’s pretty special. This gave me confidence of having everything snapped correctly. In terms of why this over focus rail, it was mainly for testing, but having used a rail quite a lot over last 2 years, I have often managed a few missed shots that muck up a stack. I also used f4 whereas a tighter aperture would also have meant fewer shots of course. So no focus rail needed (although I did use one to get the foreground shot perfectly at the MFD of the lens for 1:1. Regards to helicon remote, it’s an app (I used tethered on my mac but mobile version also available) where you tell it the start focus and end focus points, it collects camera settings from camera and works out ideal number of shots, then cycles through, snapping, minute movement in focus, then snaps again. You’re all right, I probably went over the top with the 400 shots! That first shot though was around 30 degrees angle to the platform so there was a lot of depth from front to rear of shot.

His catch phrase, usually howled at the end of every mystery, is "Scooby-Dooby-Doo!" or "Rooby-Rooby-Roo", sometimes followed by a quirky chuckle. Scooby-Doo and Shaggy share several personality traits, mostly being constantly hungry, being scared easily and most of the time refuse to help others, but their friends ( Velma Dinkley, Daphne Blake and Fred Jones) encourage them to go after the costumed villains usually with " Scooby Snacks", a biscuit-like dog treat or cookie snack (usually shaped like a bone or as shown in later versions of the cartoons Scooby's dog tag), though occasionally appealing to Scooby-Doo inherent loyalty and courage to take a more heroic stance. She stole some of the diving equipment and dressed up like the ghost pirate to scare off the passengers (actually locking them in the cargo hold), in her scam to get Whitebeard's hidden treasure. Shaggy and Scooby finally managed to capture the ghost pirate, revealing that it was Caroline in disguise. They later reach Neptune's nest and she splits up with Shaggy and Scooby. She then talked them into taking a mini sub to chase after the culprits. They told her it was because of the ghost pirate, who had taken a mini-sub. Fainting is a brief loss of consciousness due to a temporary inadequate blood supply to the brain. Syncope can happen if you have: A sudden drop in blood pressure. Most of the time, a harmless, short-term cause makes you faint. It happens when you have a sudden, temporary drop in the amount of blood that flows to your brain. To reduce your risk of fainting, you can try to avoid these triggers: Take cough suppressant medication if coughing makes you dizzy or faint. When triggered, the vasovagal reflex causes a sudden drop in heart rate and blood pressure. These have a grey, two‑dimensional appearance that harks back to the days of the Atari 1040ST so, if you have a hankerin’ for a slick, resizable, rendered GUI, this isn’t the soft synth for you. This means that you have to access the three Settings pages to get into the guts of the synth. The Keys page (shown above) wastes a lot of space and displays only a tiny subset of the upper Part’s parameters. Mind you, the soft synth’s GUI won’t be to everyone’s taste. In truth, it’s so difficult to programme great sounds on the original AX73 and so simple on the soft synth that I found the comparison almost pointless. ![]() If you don’t have an AX73 or VX90 nearby to make forensic comparisons, why would you care? I then proceeded to create more complex patches, first staying within the range of the Akai, and then straying far beyond it. Was I concerned by this? Not in the slightest. The oscillators were close, but filter sweeps had a slightly different sound, even once I had tweaked everything to make it as similar as possible. I ran the soft synth alongside my VX90 (the AX73’s rackmount sibling) and set up a selection of simple patches to see whether it had the character of the original. At the end of the signal path, the output of both Parts is fed to a series of eight effects units (many of which you can sync to MIDI) that you can patch in any order you choose, and any combination of which can be active at any moment. ![]() and much like a Super‑JX10 (which incorporates two JX8Ps) or a DX5 (which incorporates two DX7s), there are two of these synthesizers - called Parts - available in every patch. ![]() There’s an 11‑mode, MIDI‑sync’able, three‑octave arpeggiator, and new keyboard modes. There are also four invertible HASDR contour generators with three triggering modes, seven selectable destinations and independent velocity sensitivities, and four LFOs with a host of new features including nine destinations, a programmable sample & hold mode, various triggering modes, a one‑shot contour mode, and both mono and poly modes. The chorus has four modes derived from the AX73 and AX60, plus a width control. The VCF retains audio‑frequency FM but now offers three modes (LP/BP/HP) and three cutoff slopes, and there’s an additional 6dB/oct LPF to help mould the overall tone. Each oscillator now offers waveshaping of all five waveforms and has a square‑wave sub‑oscillator. Happily, Martinic’s AX73 reaches far beyond the original. Furthermore, the AX73 suffered from some serious shortcomings, perhaps worst of which was that it still relied upon audio tape as its patch storage mechanism. Given what was on offer, it should have been a better synthesizer than it was, but the similar AX60 was easier to use and had a nicer sound, and the more advanced VX600 was streets ahead. There was portamento, an LFO provided modulation, and dual ADSR contour generators could be directed in two modes to the VCO, VCF and VCA. Following this, the signal then passed to a velocity‑sensitive VCA and a dual‑mode chorus. Each voice was based upon a single VCO and noise, followed by a velocity‑sensitive, resonant 24dB/oct low‑pass filter and a simple 6dB/oct high‑pass filter. It offered six voices that could be played as a single six‑voice patch, as a three‑note, dual‑voice but monotimbral layer, or as a six‑oscillator unison monosynth, the last two of these with detune to thicken things up a bit. The original keyboard was one of a small series of instruments that Akai designed using the CEM3394 ‘synth on a chip’. Avoiding the mainstream, they have so far concentrated on unusual instruments and effects such as the Elka Panther, the Kee Bass and the LEM tape echo, and their latest offering shares this philosophy, being a soft synth based loosely upon the Akai AX73 synthesizer. You may not have come across the chaps at Martinic as yet, but they’ve been writing plug‑ins for a while, both for their own brand and for other manufacturers. Martinic take Akai’s long‑neglected AX73 ball and run with it. ![]() You are also provided with a second location to store the pencil under the shell at the bottom of the iPad if you want.
